For many India-based travelers, I would structure the trip according to arrival time rather than trying to follow one universal rule.

If you arrive late or tired

Do not add islands only because you have more time.

For a four-day Praslin trip, visit La Digue as a day trip.

For a seven-to-ten-night Seychelles holiday, consider sleeping there.

An overnight stay changes the experience because the island becomes quieter after many day visitors return to Praslin or Mahé.

But every hotel change costs time.
